We visited the pyramids near San Miguel de Allende, then had a lunch at a nearby ranch that grows almost all of the food they serve.
I was particularly impressed by our guide, Albert, whose knowledge of mesoamerican history and culture was impressive. He told us of various theories for the existence of the culture in this part of Mexico, why the pyramid complex looked like it did, and what happened when.
Since I'm interested in science, I was fascinated by the pyramid's use as an astronomical calendar to determine important dates through tracking of sun, moon, and planets.
I heartily recommend Coyote Canyon Tours!
Our family took the Canada de la Virgen Pyramid Tour and Coyote Canyon tour with Albert Coffee and Rodrigo on December 27, 2012. We had one of the best experiences of our lifetime! They are both very interesting and you can tell that they LOVE their jobs! The pyramid tour was so interesting and informative. Professor Coffee was very entertaining and full of tons of details. He shared many different points of view concerning the interpretation of the findings, history and interpretation of the pyramid. After the pyramid tour we went to the Coyote Canyon Ranch and ate a quick, delicious lunch while the cowboys prepared the horses. The ride into the Canyon was fantastic! It was breathtaking. The cowboys made the trip fun and safe. We had the time of our lives! Thanks to both Albert and Rodrigo for an incredible memory and awesome time!!! The Reed Family Huntsville, Alabama Charleston, SC
I just had this past weekend one of the most amazing adventures of my life on the hot air balloon ride. This guys have great tours and are quite experienced on the field so you can bet an experience of a lifetime is guaranteed with Coyote Canyon Adventures.
I would just recommend CCA staff to keep a better follow-up on quotations and requests. at least in my experience, I felt a little left out and missinformed about the confirmation of my reservation.
