Ole Ole

Ole Ole is one of the most charming and original restaurants in San Miguel de Allende. The small family owned restaurant has always been a favorite of locals and visitors alike.  Its atmosphere is festive and friendly. The owners are bullfighting aficionados and the restaurant is an expression of their passion for the art. It is covered with bullfight memorabilia, ranging from dozens of bullfight posters, to paintings and photos of famous toreros, crossed banderillas, and beautifully mounted fighting bull’s heads, which really give you an idea of how large these bulls are, and how brave a matador must be to stand before it.

The food is delicious. Although the menu is a meat lover’s paradise, there are vegetarian-friendly dishes like Mushrooms with Garlic, Cheese Fondue, Vegetable brochettes, and traditional quesadillas.

Ole Ole specializes in grilled main courses. Beef, chicken, or ostrich fajitas, garlic shrimp, or a delicious arrachera (a kind of very tender skirt steak).  Another great option are the brochettes on skewers, same meat choices including shrimp.

Ole Ole also boasts the best flour tortillas in town, and the tangy house-made salsas are always fresh.
Portions are huge and filling and prices are very reasonable.  You can easily eat a full meal for under ten bucks, and that makes this one of the best value-for-money restaurants in San Miguel de Allende.
